Fundus Fluorescein Angiography

Fundus Fluorescein Angiography

At RBM Eye Institute, we are committed to offering advanced diagnostic procedures to safeguard your vision. One such specialized test is Fundus Fluorescein Angiography (FFA) — a crucial imaging technique used to examine the circulation of blood in the retina and choroid.

Fundus Fluorescein Angiography is a diagnostic procedure where a special dye called fluorescein is injected into a vein in the arm. As the dye travels through the blood vessels in the eye, a series of photographs are taken using a specialized fundus camera. This allows our ophthalmologists to assess the condition of retinal blood vessels, detect abnormalities, and plan appropriate treatments.

When is FFA Recommended?

FFA is particularly useful for diagnosing and managing:

  • Diabetic Retinopathy
  • Age-related Macular Degeneration (AMD)
